Orca employs two full-time staff on Songo Songo Island, embedded into the community.

    The Community Assistants provide basic but otherwise vital life skills to the community at the Learning Centre.  During school breaks, Orca staff dedicate some of their personal time to provide art education to secondary school students, as well as programmes focused on HIV awareness and prevention, and alcohol and drug abuse.

    Orca staff members on the island also assist in the children’s clinic, where they provide community training in maternal healthcare, nutrition and vaccination.
