Seeking to diversify the customer base whilst looking to ensure Tanzania is able to access direct benefit from its natural resources.
In 2009, the Company commenced a compressed natural gas pilot project to supply gas to converted vehicles, as well as off network business that wanted gas for heating or cooking.
This alternative fuel is starting to take off in Tanzania and presents a significant economic opportunity to drivers and business owners considering increasing global fuel costs.
Economic benefits
Orca supplies more than 500 domestic and industrial vehicles daily at its 24/7 operation in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam. Over the next few years we expect there to be an expansion of compressed natural gas fuel stations.
With our prices remaining unchanged for the past 13 years, the economic benefits of using compressed natural gas versus traditional gasoline are significant, alongside the reduced environmental impact.
